I have always thought that I know how to appreciate things, but now I have learned that the "true appreciation" is beyond just saying "thank you".
About 1 month ago, I was invited by a friend to attend an experience sharing of a well respected leader and sales person of a world well-known direct sale organization. More than thousand people gathered to hear what a 60 years old retired grade 2 teacher have to share about her secrete to success.
Often in life, we have always wish to meet the "special person" or "VIP", and hoping that person can suddenly change our life by bringing new opportunity and fortune. For example, we have always hope that we will have a better mentor in the company or a better client who can support us to meet our year end sales target. So now the question is where to find or what's the steps to find these VIP?
[台灣的未來/TaiwanOutlook] 年輕代的學習態度和能力對台灣有影響嗎?Does the learning attitude or ability of our youth affect Taiwan's future?
What is going onmay we ask with the recent news about the "learning attitude" of our university students in Taiwan? Articles belows from Yahoo illustrates the incidents about students "falling sleep" / "listening to MP3" during class and important speech following by comments from minister of our minster of Education quoting that "我們專業能力不差,但在工作敬業態度方面,我們比較自由開放,就會先想到自己的利益。"?
as we are reaching end of year 2009, I am am re-picking up a book that has been inspiring me since I was a teenager, with hope that it can help me to plan my 2010 year. The "First Things First" by Stephen Covey conveys a simple message is that are we doing things that align to our goals and vision. Are we busy for the right thing.
Yahhhhhhhh... I got to say that it is not easy to do that. We may often responding to "urgent not important" (e.g. meeting other people's needs, doing fire fighting) and "not important and not urgent" matter (e.g. watching TV 2am for 2 hours every night).
lots people have been trying to search for the "express formula of success"! I would not lie if I am not one of them. However, After years of searching, I would imagine that success comes with doing things the "smart way" with a bit of luck, rather than searching for the "quick or back door" to success.
so how can we be "smart" and find "luck" assuming that my definition of the formula of success is correct?
Yesterday just happened that I was at the computer shopping mall near by Taipei Train Station called 3C Rainbow mall, when I was about to leave the mall, I was attracted by a series of "Apple VS PC" TV ads played in a Apple Mac computer. Without knowing, I was standing there for more than 10 minutes. Last thing I know, there was a crowd behind me. Now thinking back then, if I am still young and not married, I would probably have taken out my credit card and bring home a Apple computer.
最近很多朋友都睡不著。 有人是因為壓力大而很難入睡、也有朋友是長期失眠。但大多數的人(對就是你們一天掛在MSN、PLURK、FACEBOOK的好友)是常態的夜貓子。
Recently, lots of my friends are sleepless at night. Some can not fall in sleep because of pressure from work and life. Some, unfortunately suffers from long term insomnia. Funny thing is that most of my friends are just simply night owl who enjoy the tranquility of the night. (YESS... I mean YOU guys who are still hanging on MSN, PLURK/TWITTER, Facebook!) 前幾年的我,不到凌晨三點不入睡。 現在想起來真的會覺得是超人一樣! 真是很勇像,鐵打的。 現在年紀也真的也不小了。如果不早一點睡,就會覺得體力沒有充滿電。
Recently I have touch based with my clients who were heavily affected by the "Unpaid Leave" movement in Taiwan, and most of them are working for big companies that we hear everyday on TV. (note: the term "unpaid leave" is a new term describing when employers are "encouraging/forcing" employee to take mandatory leave without paying).
It was to my surprise that the "new attitude" or we can call the "side effect" of "unpaid leave" is so "obvious" and "shown" without hesitancy to the outside world.
After several months of decision, I think that I will not be hosting my own blog at my own server, because what is the point that there is no traffic and no one is reading it.
Well at the same time, I also need to pursuade myself to be consistent and dedicated in writting as now I just open this blog at one of the high traffic blog in Taiwan. In another words, no more excuses.
So what should I write about? Should I write in English or Chinese given the fact that most reader will probably prefer in reading the article in Chinese.
